Vacuum breaker manufacturers
Vacuum breakers are used to prevent negative pressure from forming in pipelines, tanks, heat exchangers and steam systems. When internal pressure drops below atmospheric pressure, the valve opens to allow air or gas into the system, avoiding vessel deformation, back-siphonage, or collapse. In steam systems, vacuum breakers also help maintain proper condensate drainage and prevent water hammer when equipment cools down.
These valves are selected based on allowable vacuum level, response characteristics, medium compatibility, and installation orientation. Common designs include spring-loaded mechanical vacuum breakers and air-inlet check types. Vacuum breakers are used in steam distribution networks, storage tanks, jacketed vessels, hot liquid piping and condenser systems.
