Pneumatic actuator manufacturers
Pneumatic actuators use compressed air to generate the force required to operate valves in on/off or modulating service. The actuator converts air pressure into linear or rotary motion depending on the valve type. Because compressed air systems are common in industrial plants and the actuators have relatively simple mechanical construction, pneumatic actuation is widely used for reliable and repeatable valve operation.
They are available as single-acting (spring return) and double-acting versions. Single-acting actuators provide a defined fail-safe position (open or closed) on air loss, while double-acting actuators use air pressure for both opening and closing strokes. Rotary actuators are typically used with quarter-turn valves such as ball and butterfly valves, while linear pneumatic actuators are used with globe and diaphragm valves for flow control.
Pneumatic actuators are common in chemical processing, oil and gas production, water and wastewater treatment, power generation, and general industrial automation. Selection considers required torque or thrust, air supply pressure and quality, fail-safe requirements, stroke speed, ambient conditions, and whether a positioner is needed for modulating control.
