Piston valve manufacturers
Piston valves use a cylindrical piston and replaceable sealing rings to provide tight shut-off and reliable control of steam and process fluids. The piston moves vertically within a guided body to close the flow passage, and the sealing rings provide a long contact surface that reduces leakage and minimizes wear. Because the sealing surfaces are protected from direct flow, piston valves maintain consistent performance even under frequent cycling.
They are typically used in steam systems, condensate return lines, thermal oil circuits, and general industrial service where long sealing life and low fugitive emissions are important. The valve body is usually made from cast steel, stainless steel, or forged materials, and the sealing rings may be graphite-based or PTFE-based depending on temperature and chemical compatibility requirements.
Piston valves are commonly selected as an alternative to globe valves in steam distribution and process lines due to their reliable shut-off, ease of maintenance, and ability to be repacked or resealed without extensive disassembly. Proper specification considers pressure class, thermal cycling, sealing ring material, and required throttling or isolation performance.
