Flow indicator manufacturers
Flow indicators provide a visual confirmation that fluid is moving through a pipeline. They typically include a transparent sight glass or window and a mechanical indicator element, such as a rotor, flapper, or ball, that reacts to the flow. The indicator makes it possible to verify flow presence, direction, or approximate rate without instrumentation or power supply.
These devices are used in cooling water circuits, lubrication systems, chemical dosing lines, CIP return lines, and low-pressure process loops where routine visual checks are part of operation or maintenance. Housing and window materials are selected based on media compatibility, temperature, and pressure requirements, with borosilicate glass and stainless steel being common for industrial service.
Flow indicators do not provide accurate flow measurement but serve as simple monitoring devices to detect flow interruption, pump failure, blockages, or air entrainment. Proper selection considers visibility, installation orientation, allowable pressure drop, and ease of cleaning or replacement.
