Filter regulators combine air filtration and pressure regulation in a single unit to provide clean, stable compressed air to instrumentation and valve actuators. The filter element removes water, oil mist, and solid particles from the air supply, while the regulator maintains the outlet pressure at a set level regardless of upstream pressure fluctuations.
They are commonly installed upstream of pneumatic control valves, positioners, and air-operated actuators to ensure consistent response and prevent contamination-related wear or sticking. Filter regulators are available with different filtration grades, drain types, and pressure ranges depending on compressor system quality and instrument requirements.
