Brass valves are general-purpose valves made from copper-zinc alloys, offering a balance of durability, corrosion resistance, and cost efficiency. They are commonly used for clean water, compressed air, inert gases, and non-aggressive fluids where operating temperatures and pressures are moderate. Brass is easy to machine and seals well with common elastomers, which supports reliable performance in everyday industrial, commercial, and building service systems.
These valves are available in various types including ball valves, gate valves, check valves, and angle valves, and can be supplied with threaded, compression, or push-fit end connections. Brass valves can be manually operated or equipped with pneumatic and electric actuators when automated control is required.
Brass is not typically used in highly corrosive media, high-purity applications, or for fluids containing chlorides or ammonia, where dezincification or stress corrosion cracking may occur. In such cases, stainless steel or other corrosion-resistant alloys are selected instead.
